A family may qualify for McKinney-Vento services if they are living in a temporary housing situation, including but not limited to:

  • Living in a motel, hotel, campground, or shelter
  • Living in a car, park, public space, abandoned building, or other inadequate housing
  • Living in transitional housing
  • Experiencing the loss of a permanent residence
