School of Choice Public Notice

ROGERS CITY AREA SCHOOLS
PUBLIC NOTICE
2026–2027 SCHOOLS OF CHOICE

Notice is hereby given that the Rogers City Area Schools Board of Education has authorized limited Schools of Choice openings for eligible nonresident students for the 2026–2027 school year pursuant to the Michigan State School Aid Act of 1979, as amended by Public Act 300 of 1996, Sections 105 and 105c (MCL 388.1705 and MCL 388.1705c).

APPLICATION PERIOD

Applications Accepted Beginning:

 Thursday, August 20, 2026

Application Deadline:

Thursday, September 3, 2026

Applications will be accepted only during the application period listed above. Applications are available at the Rogers City Area Schools Central Office and at each school office during regular business hours. Completed applications must be returned to the Rogers City Area Schools Central Office by the close of business on the application deadline. Late applications cannot be accepted.

Enrollment Information

  • First Day of School: Tuesday, September 8, 2026
  • Available Enrollment: Limited openings for eligible nonresident students.
  • Available Grade Levels: Kindergarten through 12th grade
  • Selection Process: If the number of eligible applications exceeds the number of available openings, the District will give any preference required by Section 105 or Section 105c of the Michigan State School Aid Act. Any remaining available openings will be filled through a random drawing, which will also be used to establish a waiting list.

Preference will be given to students currently enrolled through the Schools of Choice program and to eligible siblings, as provided in the Rogers City Area Schools Board of Education's Schools of Choice Resolution.
